Message from the General Manager

A new year has dawned upon us, what a journey 2023 has been for all of us at Keppel Club.

It was one memorable and unforgettable year indeed. After eight months of intense planning and renovation, we have moved to our new home at Sime and fully begun our public-private golf business operation. While lots of improvements are needed in all aspects of the Club, we seek the understanding and patience of members to allow us time to address them.

Our official opening on March 18, 2023, was a milestone for Keppel Club. The dazzling display of fireworks marked the start of a new and promising chapter ahead. 2024 will be “showtime” for our management team – with new initiatives to be implemented – to encourage public utilisation of our golf course. This is in alignment with our core mission and objective set out by Sport Singapore when it awarded the Sime course to Keppel Club.

Kicking off in the first quarter of 2024 are our new Friends of Sime and Let’s Golf@Sime programmes. Both of which are designed to help increase public utilisation rate, as well as our commitment to expand the golfing community in Singapore.

I am also happy to share that our records showed members were able to play up to 70% of the flight time following the introduction of the 48-hour booking scheme.

On the Food & Beverage front, our strong F&B team led by F&B Director Alan Goh, is continuously working to raise the bar. A new selection of recipes has been added to the Western menu, and the team strives to keep the offering refreshing through feedback and insights collected.

Our F&B Department had been kept busy in 2023. The Club hosted several Wine & Dine events, all of which were very well received by wine aficionados. Not to be outdone, our team at Beer Garden also introduced the sizzling Mookata selections and added live band entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, much to the delight of our Beer Garden regulars.

We understand there were fewer golf events last year as the management and staff team were focused on getting the operations and business going smoothly. 2024 promises to be an exciting time with more fun-filled events being planned. You will be happy to know that the Keppel Charity will be back in August, and more club tournaments and overseas golf trips are in the pipeline.

Keppel Club at Bukit Chermin may have ceased to exist, but the community spirit, legacy and friendly culture of Keppel Club remain strong and unchanged at our home at Sime.

Lastly, I wish all of you a Happy New Year. Stay happy and healthy, and be ready to sink your perfect putt.

Warmest regards,
D
