A trip back to the good old days with Viva

It was not just another Saturday dinner at Tee Top Restaurant, it was an unforgettable evening where members and guests were transported to the nostalgic days they once knew.

Rolling out its first themed night – A Retro Saturday on April 13, Tee Top was set to replicate the retro vibes through the powerful vocals of Viva, a three-piece band who hailed from the Philippines.

Amidst a backdrop of shimmering silver streamers, balloons and glittering disco balls, the trio belted out hits of the 60s, 70s and 80s; charming with diners with old favourites such as Elvis Presley’s “Can’t help falling in love”, Sade’s “Smooth operator”, Cliff Richard’s “The Young Ones”, Abba’s “Dancing Queen” and many more.

As the crowd started to warm up and feet began to tap, some members plucked up the courage to hit the dance floor; while fellow member, Mr Jimmy Yap, stole the limelight with his rendition of “Wooly bully”, backed by Romito, the band’s lead singer.

It was a night of good music, great company and tantalising food. While some of the diners preferred to munch on light appetisers, others pampered themselves with our newly- launched Lala claypot steamboat. The reviews for the night were positive; among them, Mr Yip Shee Yin commented that “it was an excellent retro event. The band was great and food was fantastic!”

Our F&B team was very encouraged by the feedback. Soon, it will be time to plan for the next themed night. When? We will keep you posted.
