Trading golf clubs for pool cues
on a sunny Saturday

If you have visited Keppel Club last Saturday on April 13, 2024, you would be surprised by the overnight transformation of the foyer at the buggy station into a “recreational hall”. Decked with pool tables and dart machines, this ‘pop-up’ recreational space was all set to host the Billiards & Bowling Sub-Committee’s first Pool Day@Keppel Club!

Trading their golf clubs for pool cues, 30 members and guests strolled in in high spirits, all set for an afternoon of pool, chit chats and makan. Although there was a good mix of seasoned and novice players, this did not stop them from having a good game. Coupled with free flow of beer and a hearty tea reception, the convivial ambience provided a relaxing environment for members and guests to unwind and mingle.

Pool day@Keppel was a perfect amalgamation of fun and social, with participants enjoying the thrill of pool and the company of like-minded Keppelites.

Mrs Susie Seow, known for her love of dance and golf, sportingly joined the event to try her hand at pool. Under the guidance of Billiards and Bowling Convenor Trace Wong and fellow member, Mr E.K. Lim, she delved into the intricacies of aiming techniques with enthusiasm and curiosity.

The event was a melting pot of shared moments and new-found connections. “It showcased the joy of coming together, regardless of skill levels, to create memories that would last a long time”, commented Ms Wong. And Mr Lim aptly summed up for everyone: “It was a very enjoyable event, we had a very happy and unforgettable Saturday afternoon.”

As the sun set on a day well spent, the echoes of laughter and the camaraderie lingered on as the group adjourned to Tee Top for their next agenda – a Retro Saturday with Viva. The day was not over… the party has just begun.
