Shannon Tan made history by becoming the first Singaporean golfer to compete on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the second Singaporean golfer after Mardan Mamat, to win a European tour event. Mardan won the Osim Singapore Masters in 2006.

Shannon achieved an impressive debut victory at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open on Feb 11, 2024, with a 12-under 280 total, ahead of Italian Alessandra Fanali. She won €45,000 in prize money.

Earlier, she had finished second in her first competition as a professional golfer. The 19-year-old, a former Keppel Club member, carded a total of 265 – 19 under – at the Webex Players Series’ Murray River event in New South Wales, Australia on Jan 21, to clinch second place behind New Zealander Kazuma Kobori. This was followed by an eighth position at the Vic Open in Victoria, Australia held from Feb 1 to 4.

Shannon, who turned professional only last month, had excelled as an amateur, having won competitions at Keppel Club and at the national level.

Our best wishes go with her as she takes on her new challenge as a professional golfer.
